SANY concrete resultsNote: The whole presentation of SANY results is a work in progress. Texts will be improved during December 2008, and further developed during 2009 to reflect new developments. Major results of the SANY IP will include:
Prototype implementation of the generic SensorSA services A framework for integration of fusion- and modelling- engines into SensorSA networks A web based platform for decision support applications based on ESA SSE Three prototype applications illustrating the use of SANY in air quality, marine risks and geo hazards domains. Collection of educational materials for decision makers and technicians interested in developing their own SensorSA compliant networks (SANY cookbook) SensorSA re-uses the service interfaces developed by OGC (mostly OGC SWE) and ORCHESTRA IP. Thanks to this, reference implementations of all SensorSA service interfaces already exist, and the consortium concentrates on developing the advanced SensorSA-compliant building blocks. These building blocks include the SANY Catalogue, SensorSA Data Acquisition System (SensorSA DAS), Fusion SOS, Cascading SOS, Map and Diagram Service (M&D), and SensorSA Security Framework. The concept of "Fusion as a service" allows seamless integration of Fusion and Modeling engines into SensorSA compliant services network. These serviices appear as "soft sensors" on the network, which greatly simplifies the task of bulding SensorSA applications. SANY "decision support" framework is based on ESA SSE platform. The SSE portal has been extended with clients for all SensorSA services. Three prototype applications have been partially implemented and demonstrated to potential users. More live demonstrations of the second application release(s) are planned in 2009. Finally, the "SANY Cookbook" will be available in Q3 2009. At the moment of writing this text (November 2008), the first version of the SensorSA (V1) has been published as "open documentation" and can be downloaded from this site. In addition, the prototypes of Cascading SOS and Map and Diagram service have been published as Open Source software under the terms of the GPL license. |
