SANY Sensors Anywhere

ActRED 08, the first International Workshop on Advanced Communication Technologies for Risk, Emergency and Disaster Management, will be held in Cannes, France, 15 September 2008, as a PIMRC 08 pre-Conference Workshop. The main objective of the full-day Workshop is to pass in review advanced communication technologies and systems, as well as solutions, in support of Risk, Emergency and Disaster Management, as well as Early Warning and Disaster Recovery. A number of keynotes will provide a broader perspective of the area, and highlight the major challenges.

In the morning of 16 September, ThalesAleniaSpace will provide all interested parties a visit to their site near Cannes for a demonstration of the EMERGESAT system.

The most interesting feature of this workshop, from SANY point of view, is the connection it makes between the sensors and sensing technologies on the one side, and the real world needs of crisis, emergency and disaster management on the other.

Denis Havlik shall represent SANY vision of "Building Robust Sensor Networks with Sensor Service Architecture" within "Risk monitoring and sensing" presentations block.
