Water Risk Management In Europe

Project WARMER (Water Risk Management In Europe) is a Sixth Framework Programme STREP co-founded by European Commission, aligned with GMES and part of the IST monitoring cluster.

WARMER's general objective is to create a realtime system for risk management through water monitoring, integrating mixed technologies in the area of semiconductors, analytical chemistry, physics of liquids, micro-mechanical fluidic systems, remote sensing and ICT technology.

SANY and WARMER

WARMER project excels in the area of water quality measurements and their interpretation - two areas that are also covered by SANY SP3 and SP5 projects. Particular points of interest include:

  • Novel water quality sensors developed by WARMER
  • Experience with data fusion and decision support in water quality domain (both projects)
  • SANY SensorWeb know-how
  • Dissemination and exploitation of the project results
