01: Austrian Institute of Technology (AT)

AIT (formerly Austrian Research Centres GmBH -ARC) is the largest Austrian non-university research organization, with approximately 1000 employees, and a budget of over 100M€. ARC has extensive experience in international R&D projects, including management of integrated projects under FP6.

"Environmental informatics" group from ARC has 20 years of experience with designing, building and operating environmental measurement networks- including both the technical knowledge needed to build and maintain the complete sensor network with accompanying software, and the good understanding of the end user needs.

Role in SANY IP:
AIT is the coordinator of SANY IP, and responsible for overal project communication and organisation. In addition to coordinating the SANY project, AIT plays major roles in the sensor networks (SP2), air pollution (SP4), and community building and dissemination (SP7) sub projects.
