On February 11-th and 12-th 2009, SANY IP team organised a hands-on training on “Building Environmental Monitoring Systems with SensorSA”. The presentations and some photos are available in our "bibliography" section.

On 3-rd and 6-th of April, SANY Partner ETHZ will organise two additional hands-on trainings dedicated to publication and visualization of the sensor data on the Web with the "Map and Diagram Service".

On February 11-th and 12-th 2009, SANY IP team will organise a hands-on training on “Building Environmental Monitoring Systems with SensorSA”.

The intention of the workshop is to teach the participants which SensorSA-compliant software components are available, and how to configure and deploy them. Furthermore, the workshop will show how OGC Sensor Web Enablement services are used within SensorSA, and how to build a complete SensorSA-compliant Environmental Monitoring Network.

Dear reader,

Three weeks from now, the SANY IP will organise a "SANY/SSE" training event. This event is co-sponsored and hosted by ESA/ESRIN on their premises in Frascati/Italy.

The SANY/SSE training concentrates on compatibility of the SensorSA (which primarily targets the in-situ sensors) with IT-infrastructure and Geospatial Information Services used by Earth Observation community.

Participation is free of charge and open to all interested parties within a limit of available places. Please read on for more information and instructions for registration.

Not strictly related to SANY-IP, but simply too good not to link here: Brazilian branch of the WWF has published a little masterpiece illustrating the dangers of deforestation in a rather unconventional way. The way causality works in this animation is obviously oversimplified, but when you think of it astonishingly accurate.
